Have you heard of “delayed cord clamping”? Delayed cord clamping is the common term used to describe keeping the umbilical cord intact in order to respect the physiological process of birth to the best of our ability. Keeping the cord intact has multiple health benefits for both you and your newborn after birth. Ask your doula to remind your ccare providers that you would like delayed cord clamping!
