How Black & Blue Cohosh Can Help a Slow-Starting Labour

If you are having some signs of labour, but things aren’t progressing as steadily as you would like, ask your midwife if she’d be comfortable recommending a black and blue cohosh tea.
Black and Blue Cohosh are two herbs which stimulate oxytocin and bring on regular contractions, helping a slow-to-start labour move forward.
- Place a teaspoon each of black & blue cohosh in cold water and bring them to a boil together
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes
- Sip this tea slowly throughout the day until regular contractions are established.
Black and blue cohosh are powerful herbs, and can be used for different circumstances related to pregnancy and birth. It’s important to make sure you are taking the correct dose for your specific circumstance. Check with your herbal practitioner and midwife before taking any herbs to impact your labour.
